Spend a full night deep inside the Western Brook Pond gorge—far beyond what a single day allows. This guided overnight expedition builds on the classic experience, giving you time to slow down, explore further, and experience the fjord at its most magical—sunset, silence, and morning light.

Very Challenging (Backcountry Expedition)

This trip is more demanding than the day hike.

Guests must:

• Be comfortable hiking long distances on rugged terrain
• Carry a 25–35 lb pack (we provide the backpack)
• Have good balance and endurance for uneven footing

Distance & Terrain

• 3 km approach trail to dock
• Boat shuttle across the fjord
• ~6 km hike into the gorge
• +2 km total to reach the overnight campsite
• Return via same route

As with the day hike, terrain—not distance—is the main challenge.

Typical Itinerary

Day 1

• Morning meet & gear check
• Transfer to trailhead
• 3 km walk to dock
• Boat shuttle into fjord
• Guided hike into gorge
• Continue beyond the day-hike turnaround point
• Camp setup
• Dinner + evening exploration

Day 2

• Sunrise in the gorge
• Breakfast at camp
• Pack up and hike out
• Boat shuttle return
• Walk back to parking lot
• Return mid–late afternoon
