Cruise the two connected fjords of scenic Bonne Bay.

Climb aboard our catamaran, the EMM-CAT and view the pristine waters, breath taking scenery and treasures of the Bay.  Live commentary throughout the cruise highlights the geological wonders, the rich cultural history and the Bay’s fascinating diversity. In this incredible setting, it is a great opportunity to photograph the extraordinary wildlife such as bald eagles, moose, whales, and seabirds. It is a photographer’s paradise!

Screech-in Ceremony… A Traditional Newfoundland Welcome… A Growing Fame

The Screech-In Ceremony is a Newfoundland tradition where we give CFAs (Come from Aways) the prestigious title of honorary Newfoundlanders! Think of it as a fun initiation!

The Screech-In ceremony is a Newfoundland custom, whereby local Newfoundlanders encourage those not from Newfoundland to become an honorary Newfoundlander. For groups of 10 or more, newcomers participate in the age old tradition known as the screech-in, featuring live traditional music, wearing a sou’wester, (a long yellow oilskin hat and coat worn especially at sea during stormy weather), taking a shot of Newfoundland Screech (rum) and kissing a codfish before reciting: May your big jib draw.” (“It means ‘I wish you good luck. A “jib” is the sail in a schooner.) The newcomer is then declared an honorary Newfoundlander and given a Screech-In Certificate. Travelers visiting us from around the  globe often participate in our tradition and become honorary Newfoundlanders.

After your cruise, join us at the CAT STOP WATERFRONT PUB located dockside. It is the ideal place to wind down, relax, enjoy the beautiful view, mingle, meet the locals, enjoy a refreshment, mouth watering snacks and listen to toe-tapping local musicians, the perfect way to end your day.
